Living on the road my friend
Was gonna keep you free and clean
And now you wear your skin like iron
And your breath as hard as kerosene

I love a song that tells a tale, and Pancho & Lefty is a very fine tale.

Harper Collins published a Walliams book called & The Blunders' a couple of years ago. Possibly a critique of their Board members.

I'm not interested in scapegoats or blame games. I think this squad, this club, is dealing with a collective trauma that has really impacted on their emotional resilience and created fragility and loss of confidence. It's genuinely painful to see how it manifests during the game...

This statement from the SYP Federation is beyond contempt.

South Yorkshire Police officers engaged in lies, deception and deceit on the day of the Hillsborough Disaster. They were complicit in the subsequent cover up and the denial of of culpability.

Beyond parody. You'd be hard pressed to find a group of people that take themselves so self regardingly seriously, and yet are amongst the least serious politicians on the planet. An absolute shower of shockers, every single one of them.

A wee trip to see the Hibees today. They should have won by 4 or 5 goals, but 2-0 was very comfortable. Some decent football on display.

The less said the better, regarding the Liverpool result today. As the old song goes, we hate Nottingham Forest, and it remains the case. Anyone who saw Robbo after the Scotland game should understand what they are going through at the moment, still a *lot* of slack to be cut for the team #YNWA 🧣

Years ago I took my youngest brother to see The Charlatans at St George's Hall in Blackburn. We were amongat the first people in the door, and as I was getting my bearings Mani swaygered past us in full Madchester clobber, loudly enquiring "where's the baaaaaar"? Bless him, I hope he's found the bar

Very late to this particular gathering, but I am obsessed with this Nick Cave cover of Cosmic Dancer. It was released during the first lockdown in 2020, and I was somewhat preoccupied with other matters. It's an absolutely captivating, beautiful version. Enjoy it.

A House Of Dynamite seems to have divided the room, literally in my house because I enjoyed it, but my wife and youngest daughter were underwhelmed.

I suspect that growing up under the threat of imminent nuclear immolation in the 80's has primed me to enjoy stuff like this. So I did.

Looking For A Day In The Night by The Lilac Time has finally been re-released, and for those of us who put our CD collections in the attic twenty years ago, it's appearance on streaming services spares us from irritating YouTube Playlists, and is an opportunity for others to discover it.

The tragic remains of the Huly Hill Stone Circle, at Newbridge, West of Edinburgh. A manicured mound and less than a handful of stones, next to two motorways, separated from the huge outlier on the east side of the junction. There are other stones and marked rocks nearby. #StandingStoneSunday
