It's nice feeling the mental demons quiet down for the first time in years but I was recently reminded of how multiple past relationships with abusers always ended the same: a long letter of demands for staying in THEIR life when I tried to pull away. Funny how that works.

I once had a job that yanked a trainer promotion on Day 1 when I told mgmt that I worked it and moonlit as an actor. I offered flexibility to help ALL shifts, not just 9-5. They asked me how I'd manage both. I said I already did.
Don't waste yourself on people who disrespect initiative.

Ignorance is bliss that I didn't ever see that stunt until now. Makes me think of a certain studio that finally approved my home studio after a literal decade of me having one...only to demand all actors except a few be local to come back into their multi-million dollar studio a month later. 🙃

Fair. I'm the son of a teacher and saw a lot of funny business with my old school playing number games with the AP program to look good for the state. Hopefully it's not on him. This just got me thinking of my TV/film teacher who planted the first seed for me for my career.

Trying to live again this year put a lot in perspective. No more transactional friendships. No more fear of people who are impossible to please. No more tolerating those who screw with my work & personal life like I'm just a toy.
I know who matters in my life.

Far too often, what I see get rewarded is selfishness, lack of spine, and blind loyalty to people with clout.

The people who are true to their word and their friends & colleagues are rarely acknowledged for doing as much.

But please know, it is worth doing and you are a better person for it.
