Richard Hass just demonstrated an amazing grasp of what Netanyahu's speech means, what it says, and the incredible lack of solutions it offered. It was a giant pat on his own back and Trump's, with no vision of a path forward for the region... Only Israel.

I used to staunchly support Israel and speak against "terrorist attacks" until I investigated the original acts and ongoing injustices committed against the Palestinians. Israeli policies perpetuated conflict and offer no hope for normalization of a relationship between Israel and Palestinians.

I am happy there may be hope for the Palestinians that they may no longer be bombed into oblivion and starved to death, and joy for Israelis that they have the remaining hostages and the end to constant war.

The only way an American president would have real power over this conflict is if they told Israel unless they stopped there will be no more aid and no more weapons. It had reached that point when the majority of Americans and even a large number of Jews in this country became aghast it was over.

Let's be real. It is the outrage of the Israeli genocide that turned the world against what Israel was doing that made this possible. If Kamala Harris were president today we would be talking about how remarkable her accomplishment, was because the president really little power over this outcome.

I agree with that. Contractors make 2/3 of the government work force. I think they deserve consideration.

I took issue with your suggestion permanent workers who are smart don't have money issues.

If your issue is about contactors, it's a non-issue. Contractors rarely get backpay for pay lost during a shutdown anyway. It's the permanent workers who normally do. They are the ones at risk.
