Today on Doctor Who day, I am thinking about how much Doctor Who meant to Caitlin. One of the final things she did was a Classic Doctor Who rewatch. She loved conventions and her Doctor Who friends. She loved her years in the Greem Room with the actors.

Mostly, I just wish my daughter Caitlin's absolute adoration of ghost hunting shows meant that I could see/feel her ghost. She is always in my heart, but I wouldn't mind the occasional My Little Pony mysteriously flying through the room.

We had the literal best possible expensive PPO available to State of Illinois employees— the same one available to the governor and legislators. Still there I was battling for home nursing in Caitlin’s final days. Insurance won, as Caitlin died before the appeals worked.

Mine was reading @michaeldthomas.bsky.social posts on his daughters end of life care and having to chase down portable oxygen and insurance companies over g tubes rather than spend precious time with his daughter. Anyone that wants to destroy the NHS is evil, as insurance based is beyond traumatic.
