Super fun week of Broadway and off Broadway theatre in NYC!! 🍎❤️🍎 Recommend them all!

Not planned, but spent #BannedBooksWeek in NYC in the company of incredible creators - who continue to put books in the world that represent marginalized voices. Books that will end up in the hands of young readers - who will see themselves and not-themselves on the pages.

Covering a lot of NYC: from Fearless Girl in Wall Street to Central Park to the Tenement Museum in the Lower East Side to Time Square. Quite a day. 🍎

We ❤️ NYC - especially with beautiful, warm weather. First a stop in Asbury Park, NJ with friends, then Queens to see the MoMa at PS 1, the High Line in Chelsea, and Little Island. Next a week of theatre and gatherings with KidLit family (editors and illustrators). #feelingfortunate

Celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month with picture books! Share them (and so many others) with the kiddos and grown ups in your world. 📚❤️🙏🏽 #hispanicheritagemonth

And what a difference Jane Goodall made. The planet owes her heaps. Let us honor her life by continuing to make positive impact - everywhere we go, land and sea. 🙏🏽

EDIE FOR EQUALITY is the story of how Edie Windsor fought for marriage equality and changed history in this country. A fight that continues today. 🙏🏽

17 years ago today, we got married in CA during a window of time - when we were allowed to.

39 years ago we fell in love, because we did - not because we were allowed to.

LGBTQ marriages are being threatened once again.

More than ever, we must channel Edie, and fight for our rights, our love.

Our milkweed plants aren’t doing too well, but the monarchs keep laying their eggs. I counted twenty hungry caterpillars today. Happy to support the next generation of these beautiful butterflies. #mariposa
