What the SNP's energy 'plan' really means - uncertainty, higher bills and a risk to Scotland's energy security by ideologically blocking the very nuclear power Scotland relies on every day.

Labour is delivering energy security, jobs and protecting bill payers.

Clean, homegrown power is the right choice to bring down bills for good.

Offshore wind will create thousands of jobs throughout Britain, through projects like Berwick Bank in Scotland, helping to power Scotland's clean energy future.

The only way that Britain’s energy bills can come down is if we are no longer reliant on fossil fuels. Today marks a big step towards that goal, says energy secretary Ed Miliband

We’ve just secured the largest amount of offshore wind in any auction ever in Britain - enough to power the equivalent of 12 million homes.

In Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 the first offshore wind project in three years has been successful - a landmark moment demonstrating our commitment to the whole of the UK.

All customers have now had power restored following Storm Goretti, with over 256,000 homes having been reconnected since last week.

My thanks to the engineers who worked tirelessly in challenging conditions to make this happen and local communities who worked together to support the vulnerable.

For nearly two decades Scotland has stagnated under SNP control and the evidence is all around us.

Scotland needs a new direction.

The Secretary of State has spoken to National Grid today to get an update on restoration efforts following Storm Goretti.

Power has now been restored to 98% of affected customers, with just over 4,000 homes remaining.

1/ Networks are working hard to restore power safely and swiftly following Storm Goretti.

Nearly 90% of homes are now reconnected, and over 1,000 engineers are working today to restore power to remaining properties.

I’m in touch with @nationalgrid.bsky.social about progress on this.

You forgot to add “Lying cunt” on your profile. You do nothing but lie and try to bring down Scotland, for the benefit of you and your English party. You Labour lot are every bit as bad as the Tories. Lies and corruption are what Labour does best.

Excellent rebuttal to some of the nonsense on grid investment:

"we’re building the system of the future - smarter, stronger, more secure. A system that saves billions in avoided fossil fuel costs, powers an electrified economy, and supports economic growth"

Don’t blame renewables for rising energy bills: we must upgrade our grid
Investing for a net-zero future isn’t responsible for rising prices. Instead, upgrades to home-grown electricity will improve energy security and cut costs
