This also rules. I have a huge gap on west coast punk and skate adjacent music. (Assumption on west coast, but feels like an incredibly reasonable guess based on the upload dates.)

Solid ass chorus. The first verse does that thing Hot Water Music does where my brain feels like it needs to shit or get off the pot on if it’s going to be ska or not.

I need to learn about this pocket of music more.

that’s why you warm up on your nips first

The best part about music is that being good at it is annoying, so you can just do whatever.

I essentially don't get to sleep for two days, so I am letting myself writing stupid songs as a treat. I wrote this one about not being in bed with my girlfriend at 6 am.

Not yet! I am actually unsure of the date, but I know it's on the website somewhere.

Gonna be at comic-con san diego!

Gonna need y'all to buy my book because I don't have insurance and a stray cat bit me.

Discourse without the entire picture doesn't help anyone and there is a lot of that happening. If Silver Sprocket tries to hold anyone to a contract they want out of or doesn't take steps I think are ethical I will leave.

I am currently pretty optimistic that these things are possible.

I am taking the concerns of everyone very seriously. Silver Sprocket is flawed and has made actual mistakes and in the time I have trying to work with people to find solutions. My only concern is losing the full picture of how comics work in the discussion and where Sprocket has been good.

I was interviewed for the article and told them I had been paid all royalties owed.
michaelsweater.bsky.social
They asked me and I told them I had. It’s just not in the article.
michaelsweater.bsky.social
Just so it’s on the record.

The comics journal interviewed me and I told them I had always been paid and when asked what Silver Sprocket owes me I told them Silver Sprocket does not owe me anything.

Why it was not in the article is only speculation, but the article is not every detail of the story

I had the same experience. It’s hard to talk about because everyone deserves more money, but having also sold through thousands of copies with Oni and not getting a royalty is the base of my perspective. I also don’t think Oni did anything wrong, it’s hard to make money and the terms were on paper.

Obviously there are issues to address and I fully support anyone making whatever decision is right for them.

I would talk about it more, but I am going through a lot of family health issues. I just needed my opinion to show up when people searched Silver Sprocket after the article.

I am very poor, but a lot of the money I do have was paid by a lien on someone's house or downstream of that. That matters to me.

There are problems and if Sprocket tried to hold anyone into a contract or was pocketing money I would feel different. But as far as I have seen they haven't done that.

I have been published by @silversprocket.net for a long time I have done the math and my royalties have always been higher than other publishers would have paid. My animation work and everything I have is thanks to them. Those expenses being paid in whole or part by personal debt is a big deal.
