As his approval ratings decline, Trump keeps “joking” about canceling the midterm elections and threatening to militarily invade Democratic jurisdictions, just in time for those elections.

Glad my family escaped the Soviet Union for this.

Daniel Shapiro: I didn’t realize how much I love what this country is supposed to stand for until I watched Trump dismantle it over the past year. Let’s not let the “land of the free and the home of the brave” disintegrate. 🎯❤️

Hypothetically speaking, what would it look like if our president acted like a mafioso and disguised the fact by simply calling his behavior “tough” and “strong”?

A hypocrisy two-fer!

Concern from this administration for federal law enforcement is tough to swallow after the J6 pardons.

And remember all the flack Hillary Clinton got for her “vast right-wing conspiracy” comment?
Leavitt: “The deadly incident that took place in Minnesota yesterday occurred as a result of a larger, sinister left-wing movement that has spread across our country, where our brave men and women of federal law enforcement are under organized attack.”

tfw Tom Homan (yes, that Tom Homan) is more level headed about immigration enforcement

The dust seems to be settling on a story less about regime change than about resource extraction.

If so, celebrations over the end of #Venezuelan repression, socialism, corruption, drug trade, and global destabilization will have been premature.

I’m sure we’ll learn from this.

A few days ago, Stephen Miller advocated immigration restrictions after watching Frank Sinatra & Dean Martin – whose parents were... immigrants.

Also watch this warm WW2-era Sinatra short celebrating inclusivity as central to the meaning of America.

The logic seems to be that when a single immigrant does something horrific, thousands of other people must suffer, at a minimum, and US law should be disregarded.

Some people simply believe our country is safe only if it’s cruel and lawless.

He is an authoritarian parody.

Btw, in The Hunger Games, the Capitol city is the actual enemy of the people.

And wait ’til he learns what happens to the President at the end 🤦‍♂️

Thankfully this didn't happen.

The House unsurprisingly folded and a state of war has existed for months, replete with statutory, criminal, and constitutional violations.

Yet it's nice not to have an explicit presidential usurpation of Congress's power to declare war - for now.
