Watching the various Portland dance party - protests and just wondering:
Are they gonna do the Thriller dance for Halloween? 👀

Good should be embarrassed to be outwitted by this level of dumb evil.

Scottitude: A Scottish Terrier Story.
A brindle Scottish Terrier stares straight into the camera. He is sitting on pink paving stones and early morning sunlight highlights his ears and the left side of his face. He will come inside when he is good and ready, so you can stop calling him.

The light after a rain is nice.
Tree branches are silhouetted against pale orange clouds and a corner of blue sky at the beginning of sunset.

A couple of unusually late summer cactus blooms.
A bright pink cactus flower blooms over several small cacti in a set on porch pavers. There is a small cluster of ceramic pieces off to the left side. The flower has pale pink petals that shade to a bright pink stripe down the petal center. There is pale yellow pollen at the center of the flower that looks like it's flowing in the sunlight. Another pink cactus flower blooms from a small cactus that's almost buried in leaves and mesquite pods. There are a number of large rocks framing the space around the cactus.

Scotties are masters of refusing to look at the camera.
A brindle Scottish Terrier sits with his back to the camera. No, he will not turn around, no matter how many times you call his name or make weird noises. He knows what you're up to.

Scruffy and on the lookout for whoever is doing all that barking.
A brindle Scottish Terrier stands on some paving stones with flowerpots in the background. His collar has a yellow flower on it. He is alert and looking at something intently. There's some dog out there barking; it certainly isn't him.

😂 Too sticky with all the dust, unfortunately. A high-gloss tortoise would certainly be something!

A freshly washed tortoise roams the yard.
A desert tortoise grumpily crosses the yard. He was subjected to a gentle hose spray to wash off the dust. A brindle Scottish Terrier with a bright yellow flower on his collar stands behind the tortoise for scale.

It is utterly astonishing (but not really, I guess) how willing the 6 justices are to go along with injustices and toss law out the window.

Was watering the rosemary, and these two baby yard dragons were hanging out.
(It's the end of summer and I'm amazed the rosemary survived, frankly...)
Two very small, dark grey desert spinney lizards hanging out in the rosemary pot. One is on the rim of the pot, the other is halfway up a clump of rosemary stalks. The rosemary has got some dead sections in it, but it looks like it will make it through the rest of the year.

Went walking last night and found some late monsoon wildflowers.
A path of small yellow wildflowers bloom among the mesquite seed pods and dirt. A brindle Scottish Terrier stands off to the side and partially off frame because he wouldn't stop moving so I could take a proper picture.

Counterpoint: the surfaces touching you will absorb your body heat and become too warm to be comfortable. Whereas the heat generated by a brief activity will disperse in the air conditioning...

Oliver would like to discuss the treat distribution.
A close up of a brindle Scottish Terrier's face. There is a blurry yellow flower on his collar, but his expression is very stern. He feels that he has not received a sufficient number of treats while my position is that he has gotten plenty.

A fresh groom really brings out the brindle.
A brindle Scottish Terrier testing out the fuzzy bed for a post-groom nap. The light is hitting his side to really bring out the silver in his coat. His chin is resting on the raised edge of the bed as he contemplates sleepiness. A brindle Scottish Terrier snoozes on a round dog bed. He is not wearing a collar - he is naked! - and his neck is at an odd angle that only dogs find comfortable.

Oh, boy, a treat restriction is highly offensive!

The outside is endlessly fascinating.
A brindle Scottish Terrier lays on a red and black plaid blanket on the back of a couch. He is looking out the window at all the exciting things that are outside, stupidly moving in the heat. He is stuck inside, where the air conditioning is.
