Learn Palestinian embroidery online with writer Fatima Shaat, whom I mentored through We Are Not Numbers. The donation for the classes goes to her family in Gaza who are all still living in a tent, as their home is destroyed. It will be a small class of up to 8 people, and there are 7 spots left.

My novel RING takes place outside Attawapiskat, Ontario. The band Midnight Shine isn't well known in the US but is great and its lead singer Adrian Sutherland is from Attawapiskat. This video shows some of the beauty of the area. My other favorites are Northern Man and their cover of Heart of Gold.
