For anyone who doesn't know already, I spend a lot of time talking about SAS doctors.

SAS doctors exist in the UK healthcare system as folks who aren't in formal training programmes, and who aren't usually consultants or GPs.
A slide from a presentation on SAS doctors, describing some of the history of the roles, including old contracts, such as "Staff Grade" and "Associate Specialist" and introducing the modern equivalents, "Specialty Doctor" and "Specialist".
