AMR isn’t driven by hospitals alone.

Industrial and corporate activities play a critical and often overlooked role in accelerating resistance especially through untreated industrial effluents and pharmaceutical wastes.

1/2 Hygiene: A Simple but Powerful Weapon Against AMR

Antimicrobial resistance doesn’t start in hospitals alone, it often begins with preventable infections in everyday life.

Practicing good hygiene like regular handwashing and proper sanitation reduces the spread of infectious agents.

Climate change and superbugs aren’t separate crises they’re deeply connected.

Rising temperatures help bacteria grow faster and share resistance genes, creating ideal conditions for antimicrobial resistance (AMR) to spread.

Preventing infections doesn’t start in #DeSci labs.

It starts with everyday habits.

Clean hands, safe food, fresh air, vaccinations, and staying home when sick reduce infections and the need for antimicrobials slowing antimicrobial resistance.

Small actions. Real protection.

1/2 Antimicrobial resistance isn’t just a bacterial problem.
Fungi are evolving too.

🦠 Candida auris is a multidrug-resistant fungal superbug spreading in hospitals worldwide. It survives on surfaces, targets vulnerable patients, and some strains resist all major antifungal drugs...

Happy New Year from MicroDAO🎉 .

As we enter 2026, we do so with clarity and conviction.

The past year wasn’t about loud wins, it was about laying foundations and building infrastructure that can last.

AMR isn’t a short-term crisis; it’s a structural one.

Wishing the MicroDAO community a joyful Christmas🎄

Thank you for building, researching, and shaping the future of decentralized science with us.

Here’s to a purposeful year's end.

As we approach the peak of the festive season, the movement of people and microbes across the globe would increase.

This Christmas, as we embrace celebration and connection, let’s also commit to responsible antibiotic use.

Say yes to festivity, and No to Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR).

Gonorrhea has quickly developed resistance to all but one class of antibiotics, and half of all infections are resistant to at least one antibiotic.

Tests to detect resistance are not available at time of treatment.

In our latest Substack, MicroDAO’s product lead explains why the Pathogen Catalogue is being built; to turn scattered AMR data into structured, actionable evidence before the next crisis hits.

Closed beta opens Mid-Jan 2026.

The ESKAPE group represents six of the most dangerous drug-resistant pathogens: Enterobacterales, Staphylococcus aureus, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Acinetobacter baumannii, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and Enterobacter.

These microbes are responsible for many of the world’s hardest-to-treat infections.
December 9, 2025 at 8:30 AM
1/4 Superbugs are infections caused by microbes that no longer respond to available treatments, and in some cases, no effective medicine exists at all.

These multidrug or pan-drug-resistant bacteria and fungi are rising globally, affecting hospitals, communities, and everyday health.

Happy New Month, Micronauts!

1/3 World AMR Awareness Week has just ended; A global reminder that antimicrobial resistance isn’t abstract or distant, but a structural challenge already shaping the future of health.

This year showed us something powerful:

On the last day of W.A.A.W 2025, we look into our survivor stories one more time

What happens when medicines that are supposed to treat infections fail to do so?

This is the reality of AMR
