It’s genuinely one of the funniest movies I’ve watched in forever

Jared Leto’s nickname in Hollywood should be “Mr. Tax Writeoff.”

‘TRON: ARES’ has earned $14.3M in its opening day at the domestic box office.

For comparison, ‘MORBIUS’ opened to $17.3M.

It's another Spooky-thon and we're taking on 2000s-era horror remakes! Last week, 2008's PROM NIGHT! This week, we're joined by our friend Evan Wilson of the Grand Voodoo Band to talk 2005's THE AMITYVILLE HORROR! Get caught up & get scared!

Poster for PROM NIGHT (2008)
Bottom half of a teenage girl's face, mid-sream, while hair & a tiara fall over her face
The caption reads: PROM NIGHT - A NIGHT TO DIE FOR The poster for THE AMITYVILLE HORROR (2005)
The silhouetted back of bearded Ryan Reynolds oddly holding a shotgun that was probably supposed to be an axe at one point stands in the foreground while the famed Amityville House looms ominously over most of the poster with two massive trees flaming it on either side
The caption reads: THE AMITYVILLE HORROR - BASED ON THE TRUE STORY

Make a movie better by adding John Carpenter's to the title:

Jason Blum demonstrating more openness and enthusiasm for working with AI slop than he did for women directors is one hell of a look.
mighoulsboonian.bsky.social
Jason Blum had one good idea when it came to film production: keep costs down, and give creative people control in exchange.

Every other take he’s had, from the perceived lack of women creatives to work with, to chasing IP, and now his take on AI-has sucked donkey balls.

Jason Blum's take on AI sucks. an AI takeover isn't inevitable, and treating it as such (while also referring to filmmaking as "content creation," smdh) helps AI companies promote the lie that their deeply unprofitable, destructive tech is more powerful and useful than it actually is.

“What if we take all the color and character out of an iconic spot, and we make it look like ikea?”

“Sold!!!!”
mighoulsboonian.bsky.social
Ah geez, sorry. I meant to send that to Beverly D’Angelo and must have hit the wrong icon.
mighoulsboonian.bsky.social
They absolutely did.

“I voted for none of this."

Prominent influencers, including Theo Von, Joe Rogan, and Andrew Schulz, are starting to distance themselves from the president they helped propel to the White House.

This one is just outside of my top ten for the year. It’s like a bloodier Scooby doo. Lots of fun

VHS HALLOWEEN: easily the best since the second entry and probably the best one in the entire series. Not a clunker in the group & it manages to capture the kinda slapdash, hokey nature of the holiday, even at its goriest.

Give me more Rick Baker verbally shredding his neighbor’s dingy home haunt!

I ranked Session 9 as tge best horror movie of the past 25 years when we did our 300th episode, so strong agree here

Pausing VHS HALLOWEEN after the first segment because I can’t stop laughing at the giant baby man

I’m not going to quote tge post here but when people say “no one knew how bad it was going to be” what they really mean is they didn’t know how bad it was going to be for them personally.
