Elon Musk says he’ll take a million people to Mars as backup against the collapse of civilisation - while he’s installing politicians who’ll kill net zero: Trump, Advance UK (after Reform UK), AfD. What's going on? Blog/tips https://ko-fi.com/mikebradyuk

They didn’t question why Musk, the EV guy, backed a climate change liar for President.

Why he said vote Reform UK & AfD when they too will kill net zero.

Or notice how DOGE threats led the FAA to clear his exploding Starships for launch.

Or that Musk fell out with Trump over who is NASA Director.

Has Kemi commented yet on the way Starmer shamelessly commando crawled through the legs of the leaders on the podium in Egypt to pop up behind Trump in the media coverage? It was missed in the video, but surely exists in her imagination.

How Musk boosts Tommy Robinson.

Analysis by Musk’s own AI bot Grok from before Robinson’s Unite the Kingdom rally.

"Musk acts as Kingmaker"

Musk switching allegiance from Reform UK to Advance UK impacts their reach on X and has real-world consequences.

So says Musk's AI bot Grok (which I ask, so Musk can't dismiss the analysis so easily).

Follow me here and on ko-fi (link in bio) for my full analysis.

Elon Musk has switched allegiance from Reform UK and Nigel Farage to Advance UK and Tommy Robinson.

Musk is now paying Robinson’s legal costs. ⬇️

Musk has also boosted Robinson on X to give him greater reach and gain followers faster than Farage - details in post 2.

Aside from what Witkoff said acknowledging UK assistance in the Gaza peace deal, it seems Starmer’s government has been preparing for what comes next, perhaps with an attention to detail Trump lacks.

This is just weird rock throwing from the Tories, contradicting the US chief negotiator on the Gaza peace deal.

‘Speaking later to the BBC, Priti Patel, the shadow foreign secretary, said: “I think we have to be honest at the fact that Britain has had no role, no role whatsoever.”’

There is also the horrible possibility that numbers played a role…

Why is a peace deal between Israel and Hamas possible now when it was rejected a year ago?

Trump claims the credit and did put pressure on Netanyahu, but it also strikes me the far-right has achieved its perverse target of 50 deaths for every Israeli killed, making it possible to stand down.

It could have happened a year ago, but the numbers didn’t seem to add up.

Strange goings on in the US administration regarding the Gaza peace deal.

While some US officials, the UK media and Israel officials ridicule Bridget Phillipson’s comments, the US chief negotiator (account verified on X) says…

Sure, but my point is immigration does not resolve the demographic problem of an ageing population if every generation has to be supplemented by new immigrants.

These fundamentals should be debated first.

Before thinking of rejoining the EU and accepting freedom of movement, answer these three questions:

1. What is the optimal population for the UK?

2. How are retiring workers to be replaced (or do we work longer)?

3. If AI and robots are the answer, how do we address unemployment?

Closer relations are certainly possible. A youth mobility scheme would be a good idea - providing workers who, by definition, do not stay long term. It would also help build momentum for rejoining at some time in the future.

And keep exposing Farage for the problems.
mikebrady.bsky.social
Farage should be questioned about this.

Note, though, immigrants also retire and people coming from countries with larger families adjust to the economic reality of their new country. London, with its diverse population, actually has a lower fertility rate than the national average.
mikebrady.bsky.social
My “claim” was it is unlikely, given views on immigration, the fact Farage will weaponise the Euro and Schengen, and the UK opted out previously due to perceived public opinion.

Farage can be blamed for the Boriswave. Freedom of movement in the EU meant most immigrants were temporary, I believe.

The population crunch is not being addressed, though, as discussed in the above article.

The fertility rate is well below replacement levels at 1.42 kids per woman.

Without immigration this happens. ⬇️

Good or bad? A shrinking population reduces demand on services, but also reduces the workforce.
mikebrady.bsky.social
Is there polling specifically asking if people will accept joining the Euro and Schengen to rejoin the EU?

Until then, according to YouGov (June 2025): 48% think immigration is too high; 8% think it is too low.

Hardly suggests there is support for returning to freedom of movement.
mikebrady.bsky.social
Farage should probably be blamed for the Boriswave of immigration that he now complains of.

Previously, EU citizens came, worked for a while, then returned home. Most reaching retirement returned home, I believe.

Post Brexit, shortfalls were filled with people on a pathway to permanent residency.
mikebrady.bsky.social
I suspect you are in a minority.

Immigration has been weaponised into a top concern.

According to YouGov (June 2025): 48% think immigration is too high; 8% think it is too low.

Hardly suggests there is support for returning to freedom of movement.

Having the following debate first might help…
