This right here is why due process for all as stated in the 14th Amendment is so important.

If one group is not afforded due process, authorities can claim you're in that group with no evidence and then treat you exactly the same as others in that group.

Like deportation or foreign torture.

As we get more reports of ICE thugs detaining Americans, it should be noted that Timothy Snyder made it crystal clear from the onset of ICE raids that NO ONE would be safe.

People tell ICE: "I'm an American." They illegally detain us anyway.

Bc WE already let them erode due process for immigrants.

If you accept that non-citizens have no right to due process, you are accepting that citizens have no right to due process. All the government has to do is claim that you are not a citizen; without due process you have no chance to prove the contrary.

NPR finds a +25% increase in federal agent assaults by analyzing court records. That also includes grand jury no true bills of multiple federal charges.

The 4th Amendment (secure in person and possessions) is upheld, as is the 5th and 14th somewhat (due process).

Legal permanent resident with an expunged misdemeanor DUI held in #ICE detention for 100+ days.

"Expunge" legally means to remove all trace from all records.

Legally, this guy looks to be squeaky clean. And yet, still detained on the way to being deported.
