How a bass line I came up with in "Talking In Your Sleep" (Marinos' lyrics & Pete Solley's producing) ) saved The Romantics" financial with our record label......Mike Skill from The Romantics....WOW....Going through boxes and photos that I had stored at my parents house, I found this article in an envelope that my mom held negatives in. She had preserved it by covering it with tape.....Article in the Detroit Free Press from 1981.. I was thrown out of the band after the first 2 albums because I was asking questions of where the money was, royalties????? The label wanting us to record 2 albums in one year and I was a little verbal about it!!!! But after the band recorded an album without my song writing contributions, it failed commercially and financially.... the band was in debt to the record label and The Romantics were about to be dropped from the label and it was requested by the label (according to Marinos) to either hire a song writer or bring Skill back into the band...After all I brought the band "What I Like About You' which is the song that has always generated the most royalties for The Romantics.......Marinos talked to the Label about giving me a chance (as Marinos stated) and I was called by the Managers, not the band and I returned to The Romantics with my songs......
