Finally working on this JVC TM-910SU for a friend. A fine little CRT for retro gaming.

A big thanks to the Chilliwack Retro-Computing Club for inviting me to speak yesterday by live stream to attendees at the club's Retro Computing Expo in Vancouver, BC 🇨🇦. I had a great time and I hope everyone enjoyed my talk about growing up at the dawn of the personal computer.

Hey @theretrochannel.bsky.social, I've been re-watching your CoCo 2 s-video mod videos – I'm finally pulling my unfininished #SepTandy repair video out of mothballs – did you ever revisit your NTSC CoCo 2 RF modulator conversion? I think part of the issue with my repair case is a dodgy RF modulator.

Well, decided to take on the challenge to repair a friend's old Canon PowerShot G1. Jeez, it's like peeling an onion, a lot of layers and sooooo many tiny screws!

I built a C264 Magic Cart (which is a Magic Desk style cartridge for the C16/116/Plus4 which can access up to 2MB of software from EPROMs). It’s very cool indeed!

Toronto traffic sucks at the best of times, but at least there's usually a moment to take a decent pic out the window of the car. No, I'm not the one driving.

“A real computer for the price of a toy” was Commodore’s tagline.

Did the VIC-20 live up to that promise? Or was it just too limited to be anything but a plaything?

Was doing some retro workshop purging and tidying up today and came across my original Amiga World magazines from back in the day. I kept the premiere issue from 1985 and the final issue from April 1995.

This is going to be a VGA interface for the PET. I hope, I will find a display, that is able to sync with the CRTC machines (8032). I was initially looking for an RGBI interface for the miniPET. Found a circuit and thought, I might try something for the PET, first.

One can't have too many multimeters. Picked up this HABOTEST HT208D on AliExpress for $47 🇨🇦. I am pleasantly surprised with the very good build quality and can measure AC and DC current. More testing is required, but so far, so good. 👍 #habotest
