Idk i just find the relationship Sega has with its fanbase, knowing a lot of their games get extended longevity from modding, to be a really interesting phenomenon since to an extent they almost seem to endorse it when I cant think of many other gaming companies that do that

Crossworlds is just a weird exception since its an online multi-player game, so while cosmetic stuff is fine offline and online since you'd be the only one seeing it, they do have to be a little stricter about what you bring into online to make sure no one's cheating with shit like stat adjusting

Like they're well aware of the modding scene but don't step in much its like an odd form of commensalism

Sega for the most part is unaffected and the fans get to just roam free with mods for the most part

Mske more DLC for shadow generations? People have managed to turn Generations into entirely different games via mods in the past why spend the dev time when the player base is just gonna have a full mod manager within a month

Sometimes i wonder if Sega and Sonic Team are chill with mods because they know they wont have to worry about making skins

Like yeah they COULD make a Riders Sonic alt in Crossworlds but they know someone's probably gonna have it modded in day 1, which is exactly what happened 😭

Rn I just have a handful of mods that are cosmetic stuff like skins or model edits for most of the characters I use but im still gonna get more and hopefully make my own later

Stuff like reshade, skin mods, even your ticket count is basically entirely client sided so it only appears for you, completely fine to use online

Like if you have the Surge skin mod you'll just look like regular Shadow to everyone else online
