(inspired by a fic) i think the idea of mikotoba going with holmes (and mycroft) to his family home for christmas is kind of cute. where mktb gets to meet their parents (while holmes sulks)

i like thinking about holmes' parents, if they were still alive when he met mktb, if they're still around when iris comes about. i think he'd be very distant with them, but if they passed away he'd still go attend their funerals

i know we've talked about it a little before but for me it's the kind of idea that could work depending on the buildup. like i think he personally would not want to be, but i could see it later on in his career (40s+) and in the framing of "nobody else is going to do this right"
