My point being, people are complex, and they grow. Biden grew tremendously throughout his career, and I think that growth (which always entails changing one’s view, and admitting one’s mistakes) is admirable.

All true, and all very much typical of the times. I don’t forgive racism etc. because it was ‘how things were,’ but I do take as context. I grew up with my grandparents, and saw them enact the views they’d grown up with without one scrap of malice, or even any awareness that those views were wrong.

Quick story: my daughter at 15 diagnosed with Bi Polar (what teen isn’t) they gave her prosaic (wtf) she was numb didn’t get off the couch no school. I stopped it after 30days Gave her a joint once a day. What an improvement we saw. She got her GED, holds a job, married with 2 boys and still smokes
