I reached the outskirts of Hyden Port, a well-known hunting gather, and towards my direction is the town of Ziersol, which I hear is like a town for blacksmiths in the Zezia region. It may take about a week of travel but I plan to keep track of the things I’ve seen. -

Chapter 1

What defines a country? Is it defined by the unity among its people or the banner it raises high? Is it defined by the reign of the ruler responsible for ensuring the welfare of the people? Aelphyr stands as an anomaly, a country defined by nothing aforementioned. This land is divided by more than a river with two nations living on opposite sides of the country and employing different ideologies.

The northern nation is called Syvern, ruled by a powerful matriarch whose control keeps even the strongest families of magical descent restricted. Fueled by the goal of progress, Syvern thrives on its perseverance with scientific discoveries. On the southern portion, a nation called Zezia resides where people embrace magic to a point that can even come off as a necessity for others. Ruled by a less-than-present patriarch and supplemented by his two children, the lands are littered with magical properties that make the land rich and odd in more ways than one.

There was once a time when their differences in perspectives did little to ruffle the other’s feathers, however, the original rulers did not share the sentiment of peace with those who came after them. Before long, tensions had risen high enough for walls to be built and wards to be activated. Partition Pact became heavily enforced by both sides, threatening the peace of the Aelphyrians.

Regardless, Aelphyr continues to flourish. With lands that are rich in natural resources of various kinds, it thrives with Syvern and Zezia keeping to their respective corners of the world, acknowledging, but not fully respecting each other. This is a country. A country so close to warring that a simple pin dropping on the wrong side, at the wrong time can spark a flame that can engulf the country in piles of ash. But why is this so…? Can anything be done to mend a broken bond? Or will it only continue weathering away?
