Mapominoes, the English county variant, was played this evening with the children, my wife being at choir. A game I find difficult to remember the spelling of.
I'm not sure these coasters actually contain any music.
Check out my Rogue Words Daily Challenge score!
New Quest: finish reading all the Dungeon Crawler Carl books by 10th October. Reward: you don't have to give Amazon any more money, and you'll be able to read something else!
I spotted this like guy bravely growing between the cracks in the pavement.
I’m dealing some years old technical debt this morning, and updating a client project from Mapbox v9 to v11 - and they’ve changed the APIs quite significantly. I’m not having a fun Monday morning.
I came across a new-ish iOS app this morning called Postalgic. It's a static site generator with a nice friendly UI that runs on your iPhone. Push to GitHub pages, S3 for a way to have a free personal blog. Very cute! Open source and a one time payment app 🎉 https://github.com/amiantos/postalgic
I think the grass is ready for the #cat.
It's Father's Day so I picked playing the #BoardGame Ticket to Ride Europe. My son has the game as a present for his birthday a couple of weeks ago, and we hadn't played it yet. Lots of fun, despite me getting confused how the destination cards worked!
We've decided it's our #cats birthday next week. I'm trying to grow him some grass. Although he's nominally an outdoor cat he doesn't seem to like outside much!
My son has been telling his friends parents in the playground how excited he is to be watching the second part of the #StarTrek TNG "The Best of Both Worlds" after school 🤩
My son got a number of fun looking board games for his birthday. I'm looking forward to playing these with him at the weekend.
It's time to try out my new bike. I've not ridden in 30 years, but want to go on bike rides with my daughter. I chose a folding bike as the shed is very full! First ride went well and my daughter was very excited when we went out together 🤩🚲
I'm really enjoying "It's Storytime with Wil Wheaton". The two one listened to so far have been great short stories, and an ideal length for a lunchtime walk. https://pca.st/podcast/9911a4f0-e72b-013d-46fd-02bb5ef11301
I don't go into Birmingham City centre very often. There's always some new big project in-progress to marvel at. Here I'm looking over at the construction of the terminus for HS2 and how it will link into the tram network.
I'm enjoying having a play with Journelly + Raycast, a new journaling app which writes to an Org file. (Raycast script) https://home.omg.lol/address/mken/pastebin/raycast-journelly-script (Emacs Lisp) https://home.omg.lol/address/mken/pastebin/add-to-journelly-file-emacs-lisp-for-use-with-raycast

🙏 My iOS app made it to the App Store, please help me get the word out and boost 🚀

My daughter had a bike for her birthday earlier this week. She's doing really well learning to ride. I was a little nervous as I didn't do too well teaching her brother a few years ago - but she's coming along fantastically! I might need to get myself a bike... I've not ridden for about 30 years 😬
For the past few years our local park has been removing equipment and not replacing it. My kids were so excited yesterday so m to see the return of the tyre, after an absence of over three years!
Note to self: don't order cake toppers with delivered shopping order.
Unexpected blossom
The Oric-1 beats the Amstrad CPC6128 by two years. Having some home computer Top Trumps-esque fun with my son.
I think this swan is a little lost. Not sure I've ever seen a swan this far from the boating lake in the nearby park.
I tried leaving Oreo outside on his own for a few minutes. As soon as he spotted I'd snuck in this was the result. I think it's going to be a mainly indoor #Caturday.
Oreo is very cautiously exploring the garden. He's been let outside for a short while before dinner for a couple of weeks now, and is deciding to fully explore this bush before going any further. Maybe in another week or two he'll eventually discover the grass (we've not got a very big garden!)
