Nice BBC article on noise and health focusing on Barcelona and Dhaka, Bangla (supposedly the loudest city in the world). Once, in a course in Dhaka, I talked about car accidents & discussed measures to prevent them. “Louder horns,” suggested a student. “Absolutely not” I said 🙂 bbc.in/4i6X9Bh

Symptoms of long-COVID can last up to two years after infection with COVID-19. We found a higher prevalence of long-Covid (23%) than other studies probably because we are among the few large population based studes and we have longer follow-up. doi.org/10.1186/s129...

We had previously shown in the same study and association of air-pollution with severe COVID-19 and also with weaker response to covid vaccines. Now we extend the findings showing an association of PM2.5 with long-COVID. This is not unexpected only that this is the first big study showing it
🏭🌫️ Exposure to air #pollution (PM2.5 and PM10) is associated with an increased risk of persistent #LongCovid symptoms, partly due to its impact on the severity of the acute #infection, a new study led by 🇪🇸 @isglobalorg.bsky.social shows.
