I love the perspective and atmosphere of the background in this one. I’m still not great with backgrounds but i really like this one! I loooove how her hair is laid out on the bed. Hair laid out, underwater, or swept in the wind has always been a huge challenge for me. One of my no pants November sketches. Finding a way to get a colored sketch done in one sitting was so refreshing! I have t mastered the hour sketch yet but this was a huge step forward! I drew this one on a whim. I had some time to kill at a hotel waiting for everyone else to show up, and this turned out so great for the time spent on it. The rendering on her shoulders is my favorite part! I have a TERRIBLE habit of overblending, but this piece came out just right!

Looking back on this past year, I'd say I'm proud not only of my art style improving, but also becoming more open in sharing more of myself through my art. It's been cathartic, especially on days when I need it.
Digital art of me sitting naked on my bed, wearing nothing but a pink durag. The grey sky outside turns the pink room to a dim atmosphere. The mirror in the headboard of my bed has a crack in it. Digital art of me, kissing an invisible person; their shadow on the wall behind me. The shadow of their hand shows up on my right cheek, wiping a tear from my eye. My lipstick marks are painted on the wall where the shadow is, right above the cursive text that reads, "...then I wake up kissing a vision." I lie naked in a coffin, hiding my distorted body in the dark. Embedded into the lid is the phrase, "You're perfect just the way you are"; the word "perfect" scratched over with seemingly sharp claws. A broken picture frame with an old picture of me lays on the wooden floor, glass scattered around it. On top of it is a slightly crumpled note that reads, "2025 was the worst year yet for my mental health. As this year progressed, I felt myself slipping into a deeper level of my depression. Even though I had distractions and forms of escape, it would inevitably drag me back down. Art not only kept me sane, but I believe it saved my life as well. Whether it was something I was going through or just horny-ass smut, drawing was the ladder that always reached down so I could climb back up."
