I do lament pioneer as a missed opportunity.

Its not as bad as it once was but given this massive cardpool its still just izzet, mono r, rakdos, mono g solitaire.

We get it arclight phoenix is a good card.

Not a hot take but I enjoy a format called historic pauper (cards printed at common on arena are legal) i genuinely cant keep up with all the releases. As the format is still quite open so many cards derserve testing.

Thanks mate - yeah that is basically what happened. I had the new dalkovan encampment so that was good at baiting it out with the tokens however you had to sacrifice something else with them to get the trigger
