Proud grandfather, Democrat, and Congressman representing NY25. Ranking Member Committee on House Administration, Vice Ranking Member House Appropriations Committee. Black belt. Go Cardinals.
I voted ‘NO’ on funding for DHS last week because we cannot enable a targeted campaign of fear and intimidation in our country.

DHS and ICE need real accountability, clear standards, and respect for constitutional rights.

Snow & freezing rain can bring the risk of power outages. Heat your home safely. Be careful if you use a generator: keep it outdoors, at least 20 feet away from windows, doors & garages.

Visit ready.gov for information on how to stay safe during a winter emergency.

The Trump Administration is using today’s horrific killing by ICE as a pretext to extort voters’ information from the State of Minnesota. We can’t allow this breach of privacy and betrayal of the Constitution.

This is sickening. The recklessness and brutality of the Trump Administration knows no bounds.

The President must immediately order ICE to withdraw before another tragedy happens.

Since the Citizens United ruling, the wealthiest Americans have spent over $10 billion to dominate American politics.

That’s not a democracy. It’s an oligarchy.

We need to fix this system and get dark money out of politics.

ICE's detainment of a five-year-old boy in Minnesota is a disgrace.

This insanity needs to stop. Today I voted against further enabling this administration’s campaign of fear and intimidation.

The immoral and cruel actions being ordered by President Trump and Secretary Noem and carried out by ICE agents are unacceptable.

I voted 'NO' on a funding bill that will further enable this Administration’s campaign of fear and intimidation.

Today marks the 53rd anniversary of the historic Roe v. Wade decision—and over three years since the Supreme Court stripped it away.

I sat down with Planned Parenthood of Central and Western New York President and CEO Michelle Casey to talk about what that means for our country.

We need to end Citizens United, limit the influence of special interests, and end the era of dark money in politics.

It’s been 16 years since the Citizens United decision weakened our democracy by putting corporations over people.

This culture of corruption has gone on long enough. We need to ban congressional stock trading.

As the top Democrat on the Committee on House Administration, I'm proud to stand with @sewell.house.gov, @normajtorres.bsky.social, and @repjuliejohnson.bsky.social to demand real accountability.

The "Stop Insider Trading Act" put forth by my Republican colleagues does nothing to stop Trump's self-dealing actions.

We need real change that restores trust in our government.

When politicians trade stocks, they erode public trust.

A collapse in public trust has serious consequences for our nation.

Governor Hochul's State of the State made clear what’s at stake. As the Trump admin. freezes federal funding for NYS child care, her commitment to expanding affordable childcare for families matters more than ever.

I'm grateful for her leadership.

Donald Trump's threats to strip federal funding from sanctuary cities and states is un-American.

Mr. President, you cannot come to Rochester and tell us how to run our community. Stay out.

Our government is not trusted by our own citizens. We need real changes, like a real congressional stock trading ban, to start restoring trust.

The Republicans' Stock Trading bill is just more Washington fake fixes. It does nothing.

We passed an extension of these credits in the House, we need Senate Republicans to act quickly and join us in protecting access to care for millions of Americans.

These programs save lives. Pulling the rug out from under people struggling with addiction or mental illness is devastating and cruel. This funding must be restored immediately.
