One thought I want to share.
Back the day, as a student, teachers didn't tell us how to hold or move our hands. In contrast with guitars the gesture is a vital lesson, obviously can damage your hands.
In the end, check your posture and habit. Use more the arm.

This year I learned to shoot and develop film, became ok at both, drove thousands of miles and took thousands of photos. I can't begin to organize them into a good year end list but at the moment these two are pretty decent.
