The City of Mountain View invites everyone to the fifth annual Día de Muertos celebration on Saturday, Nov. 1 from 11 a.m. - 4 p.m. at Civic Center Plaza, located at 500 Castro St.

Construction to install new shade sails at the Magical Bridge Playground in Rengstorff Park will start in early October. Shade structures will be added to three areas: the tot zone, picnic zone, and slide zone. Work is scheduled to take place from Oct. 13 through Dec. 31.

The results for the 2025 Point-in-Time Count, released by the County of Santa Clara this week, found that the number of people experiencing homelessness in Mountain View rose by 56% compared to the 2023 PIT count, going from 562 to 879.

Indoor Wi-Fi services will remain available at the Mountain View Public Library, Mountain View Senior Center, Mountain View Community Center, and The View Teen Center.

The City appreciates the public’s patience while this major system work for the public Wi-Fi network is completed.
Starting Monday, Sept. 15, the City of Mountain View’s free, public outdoor Wi-Fi service in the Downtown corridor (MVWiFi) will be unavailable for a significant system upgrade. Service will be restored in stages over the next 7-10 days as the current equipment is replaced.
Thursday, Sept. 11, 2025 marks the 24-year anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks. On this Patriot Day, flags across Mountain View will be flown at half-staff in honor of the lives lost on that September morning.
