i used to when i used Windows. Mac doesn't let me do it for some reason. Maybe there's a decent workaround, but the only solution i've found is some 3rd party virtual audio driver that doesn't let me monitor the recording as i'm doing it, which is a no-go for me.

if i stare at the very best 10% of material a really good artist creates, of course i'll feel inadequate. i haven't filtered out the crap from my music yet! this kinda applies to everyone in any creative medium.

to be totally honest it feels like i fail most of the time. but u gotta remember that the work that you're comparing yourself to isn't the norm. i get the impression that most artists only publish the VERY best things they make. therefore ur comparing your demos to their finished product.

making good music is so easy and also so complicated and difficult. when i follow my heart i have about a 65% success rate. so that seems like the best bet.
