That was Nov of 87. Remember that very well. That's what I'm probably thinking of then. I recall a goal he scored against arsenal in the new year at anfield when he nutmegged someone and clipped it over keeper.

My recollection was Barnes amazing from the off and Beardsley started firing on all cylinders after Xmas. I remember everyone at school telling me it was a waste of £1.9m. they needed each other though. Beardsley had amazing football brain.

No mate just jesting. Just using Crouch and Beardsley as examples as they went through a similar patch in the first months of their move where they needed time to adjust. Crouch went 15 odd games without scoring. Beardsley started firing after Xmas.
