Going forward every Democrat running for office should be pushing for Universal Health Care, 36 hour work week, and massive investments in Public transporatation. We need to not just make this about what we are against but also build a vision of a better future.

District 1 congressman Doug LaMalfa has had a rough week. He has faced hostile crowds at town halls and this morning protesters were out in front of his Yuba City office. His district has been overwhelming red and yet support for the MAGA agenda is vanishing.

90+years Railroad companies were paid by the head to deport Mexican-Americans many of whom were US citizens. They dropped them hundreds of miles from the border. Today the Airline company Avelo is partnering with ICE to fly them out. Sadly little has changed.

We need to make election day a national holiday. "The cure for the ills of Democracy is more Democracy" Jane Addams ... I believe the way to make this happen is to first start at the State level. California lets get on it and declare election day a state holiday. Give people time off to vote.

"America is the only democracy in the world with lifetime tenure for Supreme Court Justices. All other established democracies have either term limits, a mandatory retirement age or both." Steven Levitsky. I propose we have a mandotory retirement age of 70 for judges. Thoughts?

One of the ways to fight the corruption is too use our economic power to boycott the companies that fund the current regime. Ideally we could organize avoiding all of them at once but probably not realistic yet. I propose picking one a month. Boycott Wallmart in August. Boycott Home Depot in Sept.

About 30 people turned out for the No Kings Rally in Yuba City today. As we held our signs on the corner a car passed with a girl in the passenger seat-- she held up a very small maybe 10 inch cardboard sign that simply said Resist. It was a tiny show of courage but inspiring.
