I was able to find a more precise graduated cylinder today that could fit the chunks of Bismuth and got the correct results

Sometimes the #Chemistry doesn't chemistry. I have two pieces of what I believe to be Bi. Their mass is 13.42 mL, getting volume has a Vi=28mL and Vf=29.9mL. Vobj=1.9mL, giving a density of 7.1g/mLish, ref book says 9ish. #TeacherProblems #ITeachChem #ChemEd #EduSky

NGL it was amazing to see that I was able to get just about every kid to participate in a simple check in today. I read each statement and counted down and then they gave a 👍🏾 for Chemical or a 👎🏾 for Physical.

Oh that's a good guess! While I did talk about the Hindenburg with a different class, these students were classifying what is and isn't matter based of students own preconceptions and then working towards a class wide definition!
