And here I was, thinking I had the wildest take on this one. 😂

I hadn't seen the multicolored dice for Roll Player - those look awesome!

Hot debate topic from a design jam last night: Which way do the dots on the 6 go on a standard d6? Vertically or horizontally?

I didn't realize that I had such a strong opinion on this, and that my opinion was so abhorrent to others! 😄
Two six-sided dice showing the six face. The left die has the dots arranged in two vertical columns, while the right die has the dots arranged in two horizontal rows.

I make fun things, not because I think it's unimportant to reflect on the world, but rather to give distance to those horrors so it's easier to reflect and act.

Despair is all around us, wanting to draw us in. Please fight against it by having some fun today. (3/3)

But, I continue to return to "fun" being even more necessary now. It's a break. A respite. A chance to enjoy life and forget about our troubles. A chance to unite in laughter and frivolity. And, in doing so, recharge ourselves for the next onslaught. (2/3)

Today I had the third conversation in a week about making fun things. What is the worth or value of that in today's landscape? I feel the pressure of making something "meaningful" to push against the horrors of the world. Something that speaks to the core of humanity. (1/3)

Playing Bomb Busters today for the first time. It’s a real winner. The last time I was this hooked into a game was The Crew. I could play this for hours non-stop.

The others decided a blue cheese stuffed olive was true neutral and I was horrified.

A chopped salad, HEAVY on the croutons, with a light dressing. Never had a topic been more contentious.

We’ve also debated a piece of studded French toast and a calzone. This is the best debate ever.

We’ve found the best card in Wavelength and are playing it over and over. Sandwich to not sandwich. Where does lasagna fit? How about a single slice of French toast with berries on top? Best game!

The sequel Riven - when Ghen head showed up in the temple, I was freaked out. That room still gives me shivers up my spine. There’s something about how Cyan was able to transport us to these worlds that still captivates me.

Are you on the tour?! I visited them a couple of years ago - every room was a wonderful delight. I need to find my way back there again to play all their new stuff.

Wow! What an awesome catch almost a year later! Thank you so much for the note - I've updated my website with a new printer-friendly version of the meta.

Thank you so much for playing these! And, since you got to the meta and found this error, congratulations for finishing the set!!

Needed a burst of goodness the last couple of days, so I've been listening to the Welcome to Mountport soundtrack (Game Changer: s4ep5) on a constant loop.

It's SO GOOD. I'm singing and whistling along and it makes me gleeful at my core.

Mr. Trapp has it right. "Gray duck" is absurd. My fellow Minnesotans, we need to fix this. This isn't the thing we want to be known for.

Minnesotans, get in the comments!

I'm a transplant Minnesotan, but I fully support Mr. Trapp's message. Two ducks shall always be followed by a shady, good-for-nothing goose.

Announcing RADDLE, my new word transformation game.

raddle.quest

It’s a twist on conventional word ladders — instead of changing one letter at each step, you’re changing the entire word based on a clue. But it’s up to you to determine which clue to use.

I’m in LA for a long weekend playing 12 escape rooms. They’ve all been good to great. But, Hope End at the Ministry of Peculiarities was transcendental. The two actors we had were absolutely brilliant. If you’re in the area, you should absolutely go. www.theministryofpeculiarities.com

My husband has a magic power. Whenever we’re at a restaurant and we’re waiting for our food to arrive, he leaves to use the restroom, and then our food arrives while I’m sitting there by myself. Every time. Without fail.
