Our district had our first snow day today (did have a day off for ice earlier). Instead of just allowing kids to enjoy a snow day they went "virtual" to "help ensure [they] meet instructional hours". This is the first recorded snow fall for the year for us. 🤦‍♂️

State proposal would remove 'climate change' and 'evolution' from Iowa science standards

Some Iowans are raising concern about new proposed state science standards. In the proposal, any mention of "climate change" was changed to the phrase "climate trends," and all references to human impact on climate change were removed. Although the standards would still include the concept of biological change over time, the word "evolution" was erased.

Just finished reading this amazing story by Gregory Freeman! I had never heard of Draža Mihailović or Operation Halyard, the saving of over 500 downed airmen from behind enemy lines in Yugoslavia, prior to this book.
