Someone has very kindly given me a bit more info about the donkey that was beaten up when the sanctuary was burgled.
This happened in 2017, the donkey is good now, he still loves people and having attention, especially from children.
Such a gentle, trusting soul.
We really don't deserve them.

The donkey sanctuary was burgled, four men went into the field where one of the donkeys was.
He's friendly, he went over to them, they pushed him away, but he stayed there so they beat him up. He was badly injured.
If there hadn't been CCTV, the sanctuary wouldn't have known. 😭

I've been talking to Mags about this.

No, l managed not to, l didn't want to embarrass her brother.
But he said when they told us about the donkey being beaten up, even he teared up.
And l did cry when l got home. After he'd left, though. 🥹

We've had a wonderful afternoon at The Wonkey Donkey Visitors Centre near Knottingley.
They do the most amazing work rescuing and rehabilitating ill and mistreated donkeys.
If you're in or near West Yorkshire l highly recommend a visit 🫏🫏🫏
