So, I bought a pomegranate and decided to eat it while finally watching that Hidden Inventory movie since I'm only gonna watch prequel movies.
And honestly, I really liked it!😁
Toji was a more intimidating and brutal villain than I expected and Geto's downward spiral was brilliant.

There's something notable about characters, often villains, who, in a rather colorful setting, rock the black-and-white palette - gives them a sharp contrast with the rest of the world.

At first I thought "that looks nice". But then the finale of Phantom Blood, Episode 9, kicked me in the gut so hard I realized that very moment that JoJo was something very special.

As I've said, I'm rather well-versed in tropes and cliches and like when a fine story actually manages to blindside me one way or another.
I heard an opinion that Kaiju No.8 is a painfully average battle shonen, but some things did surprised me, so I'll make it a thread of it.

I've come to really appreciate slower and lower-stakes mini arcs in action narratives in-between big battles and all that. This helps to build connection to characters, humanize both them and the world.
Also, it's surprisingly fun to write casual interactions between action characters.
