We spent our afternoon finding out about Black History month- we discussed what it means to be a powerful person before researching the life of Martin Luther King jr. We then looked at images from the Notting Hill Carnival and designed our own fabulous costumes! 🎭
Playing a card game to practice our mental addition skills this morning! We were very competitive and so disappointed when we picked a King and lost all of our points! 🃏
Today was our final rugby session with Morven. She told us how impressed she was with our skills and how much he has enjoyed visiting Antonine Primary! Well done P7! Remember if you have enjoyed playing rugby, Morven runs an after school club on a Tuesday night at Denny High 🏉
Lots of laughs today as we revised some French vocabulary by using finger puppets! We are looking forward to some DHS pupils and staff helping with our French next term 🇫🇷
Today we read the final chapter of Kensuke’s Kingdom 🥹 this has been a popular book with Primary 7 so we continued our learning by researching life in Japan 🇯🇵
We had a lovely afternoon with our Primary 1 buddies today. We helped them identify 2D shapes around the school, while also completing our own mathematical symbols challenge 👀🔎
Today we were set the challenge of setting up our own cafe at Paulton’s Park 🎢 we created a menu, researched how much items would cost to make, created a price list ensuring we would make a profit then visited other cafes and made our orders! 💰
On Friday Mr Miller brought some bad news-there was a messy in the playground and we had to clean it up! It turned out to be unicorn poop! This launched the start of our next model text all about the Frost Unicorn 🦄
In class today we found out how the world had changed during the 40 years Kensuke’s had been stranded on the island! We compared what life was like in the 1940s and 1980s- the music from the 80s was a clear favourite for Primary 7! 🎶
Lots of fun in P7 today as we turned the rescue scene from chapter 8 into a movie clip 🎥🍿 we drew comic strips first to plan our work then recorded each other in small groups,demonstrating an excellent understanding of the text!
We are showing great confidence in our Rugby skills now! We can communicate with our team, make great pocket passes and score lots of tries! Well done P7 🏃♀️🏃♂️
At the end of chapter 7 of Kensuke’s Kingdom Michael is in trouble again-this time with some jellyfish! We researched some interesting facts about jellyfish and created our own sensory bottles by following instructions 🪼
We loved using this app to develop our accuracy in recognising the size of different angles! Some pupils managed to guess the angle exactly! Impressive work!
We have been developing our skills in using a protractor to both measure and draw different angles! It was tricky at first but Primary 7 have shown great perseverance to master this skill! Well done! 👏🏻
To aid our understanding of of our model text ‘The Old Mill’ we took on the role of the main character Jo. Through interviews we found out more about this character, her thoughts and feelings! 🎤
At the end of Chapter 4 of Kensukes Kingdom we found out that Michael is in trouble! We worked together in small teams to design rafts to help him. With the help of students from Denny High we built our rafts, tested them and then made improvements! Great work P7!
