Since I’m just trying to get back a drawing habit, and reclaim some skills, I’m not trying to make like “art”. So I’m having fun filling pages with multi-day drawings! Today’s prompt was Blackberries.

Tried something different today. A small detailed field of cotton grass blossoms, medium cotton grass, and a large version. I kinda wish I had squished them closer together, and been less worried about losing or hiding bits. But I did accomplish the goal of rendering today’s prompt: cotton grass!

Bad post: I also tried designing a notebook cover and I do not like what I’ve made.

Good post: in honour of my upcoming birthday I decided to host a crafternoon. We had snacks and I provided all the stuff to make autumnal wreathes and gave everyone a skeleton bookmark (that I designed and made myself). It was super fun!
Three of the four wreathes we made. The flowers and leaves are all in yellows, oranges, reds, and off-whites. The table with the flowers. I made the bags (they each had the wreath base and glue gun in them) A close up of the bags and skeleton bookmarks. The bags are made from orange plaid cotton, and the bookmarks are crocheted in white yarn.

Grumble grumble grumble! I’m trying a crochet pattern for fingerless gloves & so far total fail. The yarn: beautiful but unforgiving. It gets stuck on itself! The pattern *should* be easy. But it’s too small & I’m doing something wrong. Also. I can’t frog it to retry, I have to literally start over.
The base of a fingerless glove made from a variegated yarn from Loops and Threads. The yarn is in autumnal shades of green, brown, eggplant, gold, and orange. The design I am using is the Hailey Fingerless Gloves from The Easy Design

Today “Gosh I haven’t worked on my hat for a while! Since the yarn was a b-day gift I really should try to have it finished before the actual day!”

First I used the wrong size hook.
Then I realized I had not understood where I was in the pattern and worked up the wrong size.
Third time’s the charm!
Currently this is a crocheted disc. Eventually it will be a hat. The yarn is variegated with black, brown, caramel, cream, and blue bits.
