I find Short-eared owls to be stunning. And one day I will get a tack-sharp photo of one in flight. Friday, however, was not that day. But you know? Just being there was so uplifting.

Amazing head-turning adaptations.
An owl’s eyes are fixed in their sockets so they have to turn their head to see around. They have extra vertebrae and adaptations to keep blood flowing to their brain when spinning that head around.
