Watched Sentimental Value. Apart from the film itself, I liked the performances of Renate Reinsve(lead) and Inga Ibsdotter Lilleaas(supp). I liked it so much, I will see the previous collab between Reinsve and dir. Joachim Trier, The Worst Person in the World (2021).

Saw First Cow dir. Kelly Reichardt's The Mastermind. Wish script was still based on true events but also more fictitious cuz film ends the way I expected & the tragedy surrounding the film just leaves you to desire more of this story. Instead I got this feeling of dissatisfaction

Watched Dead Man Wake Up. Honestly didn't expect it to be good after Glass Onion fumble and almost thought it was gonna blow halfway through like GO did. Rich cast and solid lead from Josh O'Connor. Thematically, this is the best Knives Out but first one still remains special.

Watched The Running Man. Kinda made me wanna check the '87 adaptation cuz people saying 2025 version didn't do nothing to elevate the '87. I like Edgar Wright's films, they are usually not only witty but also coherent. This film was in a rush, I think its runtime screwed the film

Watched Longlegs dir. Osgood Perkins' Keeper. Script needs the support 🤷‍♂️ However, it is creepy. And the lead, our Tatiana Maslany, once again, amazing. We gotta talk about Maslany more often guys, such an underrated talent. Loved the practical effects, most VFX works some don't.

Watched Die My Love. Truly a hysterical(literally) 2 hours. Loved everything about it maybe except the brief on the nose visual effects, the close-up Rob Pattinson shot. Really doesn't fit well with the rest of this beautifully shot media. Jennifer Lawrence is great. This is easily another MUBI W.

Saw Jay Kelly. No disrespect to Emily Mortimer but honestly this story says nothing new and if the funny bits in 2nd act didn't work, I'd stop watchin this cuz I didn't care for the MC and you know what this is about, it's told million times... Rich cast doesn't really help here. A Baumbach fumble.

Watched Blue Moon. Beautifully produced performance piece and despite having scenes with lots of great actors, leading actor shines bright. It's a tastement that Ethan Hawke is the best of the best. He's adorable and Blue Moon is a roller coaster of emotions.

I was gonna skip this but got bored and watched Steve. As expected it's a youth drama but mostly from the perspective of the teachers. Emily Watson, Tracy Ullman, Cillian Murphy all good but actors who play the students are great. Usually is when it's an British/Irish youth drama.

Watched Train Dreams. If you have some time to spare, if you like real sad stories, if you enjoy Joel Edgerton act as I do, if you like nature, I think you will like Train Dreams. It looks real beautiful, has great shots.

Saw Bugonia. Super fun watch, loved Emma Stone's corporate demon persona. I am starting to notice that in dir. Yorgos Lanthimos' few recent entries, there is this mirror that reflects the real world. But the mirror is one of those distorted, funhouse mirrors. Anyways, recommended.

Watched dystopian drama Anniversary. Good casting but film feels too short for its own good. Drastic changes between events need more breathing room to settle in but perhaps creators didn't want to bore the audience since this is purely a political family drama.

I saw After The Hunt and it makes waves, just not the kind dir.'d want. I think people didn't like it cuz film kinda slams the #MeToo movement and now they pretend film has bad music or disconnected script. It was okay. One of Luca Guadagnino's more "comfortable" entries I'd say.

Saw If I Had Legs I'd Kick You. Hated the title. But once you watch most of the film it makes sense. I am not too big on Rose Byrne but I must admit she gets the job done and the job is not easy at all. Very fever dream-like movie, filled w/ a lot of validated emotions. Recommended.

I finally watched Frankenstein and around 15 mins after they started showing the reanimated monster, my first reaction was: Is that Jacob Elordi? 😀 Slightly flawed yet another beautiful, classic Guillermo del Toro melodrama piece. Del Toro never misses.

I went through The Game Awards 2025 nominations. Good GOTY category picks. Rest of the picks are pretty dog shit. Sorry. #thegameawards #TGA #TGA2025

Now that I started playing Arkane Austin's PREY (2017) I understand the outcry by the fans of this IP after the shutdown of the studio by Microsoft. PREY 2 or a spin-off or a PREY-like new title would be what MS needed but they shot their own feet w/this.

Oh I forgot, I watched The Long Walk some time ago and I didn't really like it... David Jonsson was once again pretty solid tho. Don't waste your time seeing this one IMO.
November 16, 2025 at 9:37 PM
Saw Benny Safdie's The Smashing Machine and it doesn't have the oomph that his previous films like Good Time or Uncut Gems had. Emily Blunt and The Rock don't really have chemistry, even tho they try their best... Brief UFC sequences were fun but everything else was mostly dull.

Watched Oliver Hermanus's The History of Sound. Beautiful film. Lotsa emotions, depicted carefully. Superb acting, Paul Mescal, once again, great. Not much to say honestly, good watch.

I decided to grow a pair and watched Emilie Blichfeldt's feature length debut The Ugly Stepsister. Fun retelling of the folk tale "Cinderella", from a different perspective and it's for body horror & fairy tale enjoyers. Performances by Lea Myren and Ane Dahl Torp are great 👌

Watched One Battle After Another. Probably one of the easiest to follow and enjoyable Paul Thomas Anderson title. Loved Sean Penn and Regina Hall. Time frame between filming and release of this film is ironic since it's mirroring real world a little too much.
November 13, 2025 at 10:23 PM
Saw Roofman. Pretty sad story but pretty lighthearted way of telling things kinda works? Tatum is pretty good, I usually don't really care for him in films. Great casting also helps, specially Kristen Dunst slays, loved her. Nicely filmed and pacing was good. "Based on true story" hits hard 😢

Tried watching Dead of Winter but ended up stopping in 3rd act. Good acting and decent-ish story ruined by pacing cuz script was too thin probbaly.
