To understand pandemics, we need more and more interdisciplinary research. This systematic review of 169 studies shows that our understanding of pandemics is flawed because academics work in silos within their own disciplinary boundaries. To develop a better understanding of pandemics, it is important to work across disciplines because "different disciplines can address the same question but reach different conclusions because they adopt different methodological approaches." The authors of the paper argue that "if disciplines work together, we can reach a more holistic understanding of pandemics. If we can develop a more robust and rounded literature, we will be in a better position to engage with policymakers." Read more here: https://lnkd.in/dTxVWCXc

Silvi makes it super convenient to access abstracts and full length papers for your systematic reviews. When you import studies into Silvi, it will always try to retrieve abstracts and full texts of open access papers. On rare occassions, it may not be able to find the abstract of a given papers. In that case, you can easily access the the paper by clicking on it DOI. Here's a quick guide on how to do it: 1. Sometimes when you import a paper into a project, its abstract might be missing. While Silvi will do its best to retrieve abstracts of as many papers as possible, sometimes you might be missing an abstract or two. If that happens, you can click on the DOI on top of the title of the paper. This will open the paper in a new tab. 2. Copy the abstract of that paper and go back to Silvi. Click on "Edit" and scroll down a little. Paste the abstract in the "Abstract" field and click on "Save." Your abstract will be added. 3. You can also use the DOI feature to download papers w
