Another brilliant online service that I use all the time: MusicBrainz. And, it seems, with great social media support.

On the music front: I remain so lucky that my hearing loss from my stroke was confined to speech perception. Music powers me through the day. And MusicBrainz provides the metadata.

Otherwise, if you do have significant resources and sysadmin skills, the live data feed does include MBID redirects you can query through SQL, it requires setting up a MusicBrainz mirror on your own server.

Meanwhile, the MusicBrainz API does return the most up-to-date data with the currently main MBID for any old MBID you input.

You can make use of this difference to flag your locally outdated data, then update it through the API.

You might consider including releases where the Status field is left blank, but ignore ones that are explicitly set to 'bootleg' and 'pseudo-release' (up to you whether you'd include stuff like 'cancelled' etc) -a

qplanner now has refreshed artist data, and images are back!

Data sources are @musicbrainz.org @lastfm.bsky.social and @wikimediafoundation.org

I still need to add back the small images on the user selection page, and mobile long press.

I plan on adding artist checks/suggestions in the creator.

More on the original topic, if you sync your scrobbles with ListenBrainz/make a ListenBrainz acc, a number of LB playlists are generated.

There's also a number of third party tools that 'facilitate' adding stuff from those lists locally: wiki.musicbrainz.org/External_Res... -a

the UI is a bit hard to understand but it *does* account for every single bit of information that you could possibly add. I find that awesome
