Today is the Feast of St Gregory the Great. The mainstream form of Western plainchant, standardized in the late 9th century was attributed to Pope Gregory I and so took the name of Gregorian chant.

It is worth the late finish, today, as all psalms are now composed for Sundays in Year A, taking us up to Advent Sunday 2026! As several Year B psalms have already received Concordats, psalms are now composed until the end of Eastertide 2027!
