UK musicians earning in the US: If 30% tax was withheld, you may be able to claim it back via a US tax return - and use it as a credit on your UK tax.

But HMRC expects you to take reasonable steps first. Skip it, and they might challenge the credit.

Not less tax - just who gets the money.
