Watching sports through the lens of gambling is miserable. Portnoy has terminal gambling brain on top of being an awful human. I love watching the Seahawks, but the league's insistence on pushing gambling at every turn (and elevating shitty people like Portnoy) is gross and bad.
Everything else aside, the idea that this is a model for many men of *masculinity* is so wild. This? This is "manly"? This is how people think it's cool to act?

Unreported in all of this: Netflix made a LOT of shitty television this year. Sure, Netflix had a few good things. But like... so much mediocre-to-shitty CONTENT. That obviously isn't the primary thing at play here, but it's not nothing.
