I also genuinely can't decide if I prefer either to leveling by gathering and crafting gear for my adventuring jobs

Esp in between patches, I wind up being over-leveled in DOH/DOL jobs

Having now done both Phaennas and the Firmament for solely leveling up crafting/gathering, I must say that I prefer the grind of Phaennas because it doesn't eat up my inventory space, but Firmament feels more accessible for lower level crafting

sometimes logic helps me so I try to point to
a) fans of that amount of pedantry don't read fanfic
b) even if they did, they're jerks and I don't want them to enjoy my works regardless
c) I support the endeavors of "stop writing for your worst readers"

The conflict between "this is fanfic I can do what I want" and "if I cannot reasonably reconcile this discrepancy in canon to the satisfaction of the most pedantic fan, I will have to leave the entire fandom in shame"

“Are you afraid I might realize that I don’t need you, Zackly?” Historia retorts, her eyes bright. “My soldiers were able to handle this situation without your input, after all.”

“You were lucky. Such reckless behavior will get you killed.” His tone carries the threatening weight of a general berating a soldier, not one speaking to his queen.

“Bold of you to make such a statement in front of these witnesses.” She gestures at the others gathered in this room, most of whom helped install her as ruler: Commanders Erwin and Pixis, Hange, Moblit, Levi, Sasha (who looks ready to fight), Armin, Jonas, and Thomas.

The fury in the general’s expression fades but doesn’t vanish, like flames turning to embers. “I do not fear offering advice to my queen in front of my subordinates.”

“You swore an oath to serve me. I expect you to uphold it.”
