Balatro and Against The Storm are both great comfy timesinks! If you want something more platforming-heavy, I'd recommend Celeste or SANABI, or if you wanna torture yourself with puzzly RNG, Blue Prince is fantastic too!

How many layers of motivation do you like to give your antagonists? Do you like them complex and nuanced, or is 'Evil Feels Good' enough for you? Do you think there's such a thing as 'too much' motivation?

Just takin' a sec to shout out everyone's favorite scary squiddy. #D&D is great and all, but for those who want something a little spookier, a little pulpier, and a little more story-oriented,

may I suggest my favorite #TTRPG, #CallOfCthulhu ? :3

Its skin is slick and swathes of water roll off it, its eyes blood-red and glowing malevolently. The lower half of the monster's head is a mass of writhing tentacles, each large enough to easily snatch the man up like an adult grabbing an action figure. This lone human has come face to face with the most iconic monster in H.P. Lovecraft's Cthulhu Mythos; the Great Old One himself, Cthulhu.

It's a slightly elevated shot from afar of a big wisteria tree resting atop the edge of a cliff that overlooks the ocean. Its bark is glowing white, and its leaves are various shades of violet and purple, and also glow slightly. Dropped leaves are scattered at the base of the tree, and some can be seen drifting in the wind. The roots break through the cliff and can be seen from below it as well.

The rocky cliffs upper surface gives life to dull green grass, and there is a stone path leading to a stone portal with a small ceremonial platform and a broken pillar to the side leading up to the tree.

The ocean is relatively active, and crashing waves can be seen at the base of the cliff. The horizon is foggy and the vague shapes of distant islands can be seen, as well as clouds and a bright, full moon.

The tiny silhouettes of two people are seen sitting beneath the tree, right at the very edge of the cliff, with one of them holding a lantern.

There's an RPG zine called The Vast in the Dark. It asks your players to list pieces of theirself (name, desires, memories, etc); when you suffer a hardship in the titular setting, one of those pieces erodes and is lost. Blurring the lines and seeing your character wither is FANTASTIC for horror.

Seconded for Ten Candles! Horror's really tricky in TTRPGs 'cause it relies on atmosphere you don't get in a well-lit room around a table with friends.

10C is the only game I've seen that turns gameplay itself into the atmosphere horror needs to thrive.
