None! I do keep a West Mids Bird Club (4 Counties) list, as your each individual I don’t know.
I used to get super excited to visit Cley NWT Reserve and still do! Beach Road, the Eye Field and the North Marsh were my favourites then. So question is it as good as it used to be?
Not every person that lives on there are birders. Just think about what gets missed in mainland gardens.
Would have to agree with that.
Later start due to the fog. Tucklesholme fog bound until at midday. Two Swallow flew through and a couple of Stonechat were the pick! Just clinging onto summer with those hirundines. @ochrurosbirder.bsky.social
Managed to get onto the flock of 8 White-rumped Sandpipers at Belvide yesterday evening before they flew out east. An amazing regional record that I can’t see ever being beaten. Thanks to @belvidebirding.bsky.social for getting the news out so quickly.
Well played with the overnight stay.
Yeh impossible to see the Petrel whilst the tide was out, most folk was at the mouth of the Mersey, between 50-100 we was told, little cover there hence our decision to go there!
Thought is was going to take our heads off as it flew over the lifeguard cabin this morning! Can I use your image on my FB post With credits please.
Great views of a late Reed Warbler at Grimley, Ringed Plover, Kingfisher and Water.Rail were the other notables! 3 GWE also. #@ochrurosbirder.bsky.social
Well that frustrating, I didn’t see the Ulrome Greenish Warbler despite two attempts. 20+ Chiffchaff and 2 Lesser Whitethroat were small compensation. Love that as a patch.
At least 25 Yellow Wagtails in and around Patrington Haven yesterday afternoon!
Dipped the Common Cranes this am at The Outstrays NR but I did flush a Sort Eared Owl! Saw the later having a dance!
Strong SE winds hampered my birding at Spurn yesterday, most birds hunkered down. Redstart and Pied Fly around and Black Redstart and Whimbrel on the Humber foreshore. Maybe today they will emerge.
Popped into Tucklesholme this morning, not enough time to contribute to an all-dayer, did have a flyover Greenshank. @ochrurosbirder.bsky.social
That’s ok, I’m not worried now about specific county list nowadays, WMBC maybe!
I was in Norfolk when Ian found the Blithers one, seen one at Upton
Embarrassingly my first Whinchat of the year today in Sandwell Valley! First time I have stayed in the West Midlands for many a year!
Barr Beacon today busy with migrants. Tree Pipit lingering, Spotted Fly, 4 Redstart, 2 Wheatear and 4 Yellow Wags! Huge tit flock with Garden Warbler, 2 Willow Warbler, 6 Blackcap and a Whitethroat!
A very frustrating and directly underneath views of 3 Whimbrel/Curlew flying west over Barr Beacon this morning. Gut feeling say Whimbrel, compact, bill not overly long! @ochrurosbirder.bsky.social
I can only remember seeing a fly over Black-tailed Godwit there. Take some looking back to be honest! Think there was the two commoner sandpipers when it was drained all those years ago.
Best not guess sand think whilst birding 😂, this was my 5th @wmbc.bsky.social regional sighting of this species. Can’t remember if there were many more that were twitchable in my time.
Oh yes, did t even think about the four county completion!
