"Seek, and you shall find me~"

A very polite wizard with gifted child burnout syndrome.
[he is, uncharacteristically, at a loss for words for awhile, just staring at the body]

[he closes his eyes and takes a slow breath]

I believe you.

But you'll forgive me if I keep my distance.
You 'barely know'? What-

[He drags a hand through his hair, staring at the mutilated body]

...Mystra have mercy...

This is not the time to be *coy*, Olwen! That poor girl did nothing to deserve this!
//coughs okay but what if Minthara at the goblin camp ended up interrogating this obnoxious human wizard that was surprisingly durable and annoyingly charming

Oh, a Selûne's Tear! Those are an invaluable spell component! When burned it allows the summoning of a ghost.

It was named such due to th-

[And he goes on for awhile]
'Practical' would be another way to phrase it.
[he smiles, briefly holding up his pointer finger]

A fellow pragmatic. You understand.
There seems to be very little point in mastering the Weave, and it's myriad of uses, without any desire to make oneself of service.

Now that i think about it… Cole sounds like my Dog.
Wonderful!

I shall focus on the practical and omnipresent - little details that you note and wish to take into account, I encourage you to add at your own leisure.

That is to say, I shall provide the landmarks but the rest of the map of your mind should be penned by yourself.
They are. But if it slips your mind again, I won't take it personally.

Though, would you object to me scribbling up a little journal for you to refer to? I do not mind doing it at all. But only if you think it will help. Or put you somewhat more at ease.

I have a cat, a library, and a weakness for a good glass of wine. And if the mood takes me, I'm known to try my hand at poetry.
Ah yes. I should really write all of us down in a book for you to peruse whenever your mind gets away from you...

[a hum of thought, before clearing his throat]

You find yourself in the presence of the renowned wizarding prodigy, Gale of Waterdeep - please, no need to be intimidated.

Another valuable little nugget of insight.

Certainty of one's character is more valuable than one's own name, in my humble opinion. I think you'll be alright.
Understandable.

But, we are both wanting a cure for the ah...

[he gestures at his eye again]

We need each other. As for my part, I swear to have your back. Hopefully, you'll have mine as well.
[Gale strokes his beard]

Well. It's not a name. But it's something. I'd consider that a good sign, all things considered.
[he perks up a bit, completely ignoring any comments about himself and shifting his seating so he's facing her more directly]

A spark of memory! What else do you recall about him?
[he BEAMS at that, eyes squinting up]

Thank you! I had an instructor that advised me to take up a past time that *didn't* involve magic, or it would rot my brain in a 'unique and useless way'. My mother suggested cooking, and I have not looked back.

There's something almost meditative about it.
[a quiet chuckle]

Not sure I could say that for certain.

But, he hasn't tried it again. So, we can at least say 'lesson learned'.
Apologies.

I think bears wake up less violently, so it wasn't exactly an apt comparison anyhow.

And..yes. Someone else.

He had quite a fit about it.
