-= We hoped we never had to do this but here we are and we now have to do this. =-

American trans humans are under threat and like in 1930s Germany, they now have to GTFO of their home country.

We have decided we need to collect some information on the possible ways out.

So we made a wiki.
today is the only day you can legally do this in the uk
put some strawberry jam in my porridge this morning

need a very calm rest of the day, lest i succumb to the excitement
does it count if i put a teabag inside the kettle and a http response on a post-it note?
hacked my kettle

can make even hotter tea at a slightly slower speed
oh wow, even better!!
the ability to determine when a plane taking off at the local airport is a boeing by the engines screeching as though they're threatening to detach and fall from the sky
will keep you posted :D
I'm currently building something which combines data from solar flares and coronal mass ejections to generate an advanced notification (approx 24-72h prior).

Then using solar wind data, to can then issue updated ETA and a more certain notification between 30-60 mins before it impacts Earth.
Most of the notification systems are based on the geomagnetic activity, so can produce notifications even when an aurora isn't likely.

In the case of Earth-based geomagnetic activity alerts (like AuroraWatch) they might even be too late altogether.
No notification there, just me staring at Space Weather Prediction Center data for too long! (Plus some other sources to confirm)
www.swpc.noaa.gov/products/rea...

Some websites I like which offer notifications:
AuroraWatchUK - aurorawatch.lancs.ac.uk
SpaceWeatherLive - www.spaceweatherlive.com
Spent hours freezing on a hill in a state of excitement which can only be matched by a child at Christmas.
G4 Geomagnetic Storm - Kp 8
Threshold reached: 17:05 UTC

Sun setting, light fading, excitement astronomical - if you'll pardon the pun.
Approx 15:15 UTC
Coronal Mass Ejection impact at Lagrange 1 @ 809.3 km/sec

Early readings of real-time solar wind:
Heliospheric Magnetic Field: 29nT
Direction: -25nT (South)

Hopefully an aurora of similar intensity to the May solar storms tonight!
Earth-directed X7.1 flare last night and a couple M-class this morning, with few signs of degradation.

Models predict solar mass will reach Earth around
2024-10-04 20:35 UTC (± 7h)

Hopefully some good weather and aurora this weekend!
There used to be a "search this area" button, but recently they've seemingly made searching the area on screen (specifically from the centre co-ords) the default.

I wanted to naively believe it was bad UX, but changing to sort by distance and seeing the store across the road quickly quashed that.
solar activity will resume when morale improves

M1.7 flare from active region 13842 (and its newly formed delta!)

hopefully the lull is ending and aurora chasing can continue - I am ready to get hurt again
they should rename this road memory lane
